In the spirit of Thanksgiving and my last post, I Just Want To Be Thankful(check it out), I want to list a few things I’m thankful for, among other things.
Of course I could come up with an infinite list of things I’m thankful for, but I’m only going to list a few things that have occurred to me in the last week or so.
I’m thankful for my parents. Even though my dad wasn’t able to be here the past few weeks, I’m far beyond thankful that my mother was.
I’m thankful to know that in a little over two weeks I will be home with said parents!
I’m thankful for my cool brothers and their awesome wives. I don’t know what I would’ve done for the past two years without them!
Do I need to mention their adorable kids? Of course! They are so cute and so funny! They make my days so much better!
I’m thankful for teachers that have a sense of humor and that care about their students.
I’m thankful to be going to such an amazing school.
I’m thankful for all of the family I have that are not related to me by blood.
I’m thankful for all of the new friends I’ve made over the past few months.
I’m thankful for all of the old friends I’ve had throughout the years.
I’m thankful for cooler weather(not crazy about the freezing temperatures though. jk).
I’m thankful for long car rides with my mom and the conversations that happen during those care rides(or late at night before we go to bed).
I’m thankful for shopping trips with my mom and my sisters-in-law.
I’m thankful for the ability to listen to music wherever I go.
I’m thankful for coffee.
I’m thankful for my journaling Bible.
I’m thankful for chocolate.
I’m thankful to all the people who have taken me in during holidays that I could not go home.
I’m thankful for my car.
I’m thankful for technology(especially my parent’s Magic Jack).
I’m thankful for sappy, romantic movies(even though I have to admit I’ve become a bit of a skeptic). I’m also thankful for funny movies.
I’m thankful for comfortable beds.
I’m thankful for the wonderful feeling I get when I’m done with all of my assignments and tests!
I’m also thankful for the ability to write.
Anyway, I could go on and on about the things I’m thankful for. All of these have occurred to me at some point or other during the past week or so. It was nice having my mom here for my grandmother’s 80th birthday. I’m pretty sure my grandmother enjoyed having all of the kids there. I can’t wait to be done with finals and be on my way home! I’ve enjoyed this past semester, but I am ready to be done with it and on to the new one!
I’m pleased with how most of this past semester turned out. I’m very pleased with all of my grades, so far. I’m happy about all of the new friends I’ve made. But there a few things I wish I had done differently or that I had reacted to differently. I’m hoping to change that this next semester and do better. I’ll let you know what exactly I have in mind and how it’s going in my next post.
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and that you enjoy preparing for Christmas over the next few weeks. But don’t forget what the most important thing is: keep God first. Always.
